any
toll, after the earthquake and the tsunami on December 26th, 2004, has not been evacuating entirely. And it will also raise many problems, e.g., epidemics, less of foodstock, inadequate of unarmed volunteers. The distribution of the humanitarian relief to toll goes slowly, It shows clearly that Indonesia failed to handle them. But the government tries to keep it, not to be exposed. It is proven that Indonesia reject the international humanitarian relief at the beginning of enormous disaster in the past 40 years in the world. Some locations could not be access by the international parties, i.e., applying the convoluted regulations for the activists, the state-owned departments, UN, the National and International Non-Governmental organizations, and the Journalists. The Visa on Arrival have to be extended every week indicated that the government has not received wisely the International Aid.
Even though we have seen the positive progress where the
International humanitarian activists allow coming in Acheh legally, It will not
be enough to work out the problems. Better whether RI to discuss and resolve its
powerless.with other parties. And also to invite the experts to handle toll , no
need to suspect their coming in Acheh and not involving the political interests.
SIRA ask to the government of Indonesia the cooperation as
follows:
- Seriously to aid toll on the based reason the humanitarian. In this
situation Indonesia only focus its interest in Acheh. The government have not
removed the civil of emergency state .It is the major obstacle to launch the
humanitarian relief to toll. We urge the government to think the living of the
survivors. Indonesia has to corporate with any parties, national and
international, to handle them.
- Acheh must be accessible for the national and international mass media to
inform and broadcast the fact. The transparency of information is really
important for the national and international community.
- The political dilemma is the main agenda to both parties, RI and GAM, even
though not yet solved. The government of Indonesia has to end the military
approach to resolve the conflict that creates the suffering for Achehnese.
Indonesia must remove the civil of emergency state and to keep on the dialogue
between RI and GAM as the rational act post the disaster. We believe that it
reduce the suffering in Acheh.
It is all for humanity addressing, democracy, peace and
empowerment the human rights in Acheh.
Sincerely Yours,
Jakarta, January 1st,
