The Indonesia Military Want to Control Over Acheh BackAuthor: SIRA Commentary
SIRA is deeply concerned over SBY’s policy is out of feeling to solve the conflict in Acheh. He put the repressive and war approach forward. The meaning of deadline is to expulsion the volunteers and they can live only at two places, i.e, Banda Acheh and Meulaboh – Acheh Barat (West Acheh), and others are forbidden area to visit. The aim of this policy is to cover over the human rights abuses that conducted by Indonesia force, TNI and POLRI. We see that the policy is driven by the desire of Indonesia to dominate the reconstruction program. The government see that the international force will hinder its ambition especially TNI and POLRI to control over this area. Besides those the reconstruction program go based on their planning, and of course the accountability is not guarantied . Everything will be deviated, moreover the budget the International have to monitor and audit. SIRA is royally welcome to the UN’s request ,in order that Indonesia does not limit the existence of the foreign military and its humanitarian aid (source: Detik, January 14, 2005),. The foreign soldier are absolutely needed solving the political conflict as comprehensive between Indonesia and GAM .Hoping that reconstruction programs goes on Achehnese and international wish. SIRA ask to the UN and other countries that have helped Acheh keep living in Acheh. It is what Achehnese wish and to hope the people of Acheh do not believe the government of Indonesia anymore.
